ARE OUR TEAS ORGANIC?
We believe in complete transparency when it comes to the quality, origin and sourcing of our teas and herbs.
We carefully select our ingredients from trusted suppliers, with a strong emphasis on quality, sustainability and ethical sourcing. Some of the teas and botanicals we purchase are sourced from producers who follow certified organic growing practices.
However, there is an important distinction between ingredients originating from certified organic suppliers and a finished product being legally certified and marketed as organic.
What does organic certification actually mean?
In the UK, the term 'organic' is legally regulated when used to describe food and drink products.
For a business to market its own tea blends as organic, it must meet the relevant organic production and handling requirements and, where required, be registered and inspected by an approved organic certification body.
This certification process helps ensure that organic standards are maintained throughout the supply chain, including how ingredients are handled, stored, blended, packaged and labelled.
Importantly, purchasing ingredients from an organic-certified supplier does not automatically mean that a business can legally market its finished products as organic.
Why don't we label our teas as organic?
Although we source some ingredients from suppliers with organic credentials, our business is not currently registered with an approved organic certification body.
For this reason, we do not describe, label or sell our tea blends as organic.
We believe it is important to respect the regulations surrounding organic certification and to be completely honest with our customers about what our products are, rather than making claims that we are not certified to support.
Our commitment to quality
Not holding organic certification does not change our commitment to carefully selected, high-quality ingredients.
We continue to prioritise responsible sourcing, ethical supplier relationships and the quality of every tea and herbal blend we create.
For us, transparency is just as important as the ingredients themselves. We want our customers to feel confident knowing that the information we provide about our teas is clear, accurate and trustworthy.
